Croatians in Stalingrad: 369. Verstärktes Kroatisches Infanterie Regiment

The Croatian infantry unit that fought in Stalingrad (369. Verstärktes Kroatisches Infanterie Regiment) fought valiantly and was also annihilated save for a handfull of men that surrendered along with the Germans on February 2. Col Viktor Pavičić died at Stalingrad.
